OBIT 1930:
Mr. George Lavis, who died at Second-street, Gawler South, on June 25, at the age of 86 years, was a colonist of 67 years. He arrived in the ship Sir John Lawrence, and resided at Kilkenny' and Balaklava. He served as a councillor at Balaklava for several years. He leaves a widow and six children— Mesdames E. Bradley, of Woodviile Estate; K. Rowley, of Mypolonga; M. Paternoster, of Gawler South, and Messrs. James Lavis, Torrensville; George Lavis, Hackney, and David Lavis, Gawler West. There are 28 grandchildren and-41 great-grandchildren.

KINGSTON On the 30th May, at his late residence. Lower North road. Islington, John, the beloved husband of Amelia Kingston, aged 71 years, leaving a wife, 7 daughters, 1 son. 46 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren to mourn their loss. At rest.
John was a farmer and contractor and was insolvent in 1879
by the time Amelia died in 1919, there were 53 grandchildren!

You could perhaps get marriage certs for Percy's kids to see what clues they hold - I see Percy was the next of kin when his son enlisted for WW2 so he was about then! It seems to me Percy changed his name again from Arnold to something else - nothing is coming up that matches LAVIS or ARNOLD..although there is this:
