I'm researching my family history. My grandfather, James Innes, emigrated to Australia around the end of 1909 beginning 1910.
If the information I have is correct he was President of Lyndhurst Shire Council from Dec 1937-Dec 1951.
He was born at Quarryhill, Marnoch, Banffshire, Scotland, July 14, 1889. His father was John Innes, a farmer and his mother was Isabella (nee Michie).
He had 3 brothers (John, Alexander, Robert) and 1 sister, Annabella.
If my information is correct he married a Jessie R Mudge in Cowra, NSW, 1920 and died in Blayney in July 1958, aged 68 years. Jessie died aged 68 years, in Chatsworth NSW in 1961. I think they had 2 daughters, Nancy and Kathleen Mollie. I have received information that Nancy lives in Cohuna.
He enlisted in the Australian Army on the 3rd of May, 1915 and served in France, demobed Dec 1919.
If I have the correct James Innes I would be grateful of any information about him, his wife, his family.
Kindest regards, Albert Innes, Aberdeen, Scotland.
