I'm doing my dads side of the family tree, I am having a lot of problems finding any information on his mother Gladys Violet Hancock (married John Daniel Mackay) she was born in kourmburra Victoria Australia on 22 may 1920 and passed away on the 5 October 2003. She married my John on the 24 may 1939. They had four children together Denise, Glenys, Robert (deceased) and Raymond (my dad). I'd really like some help on finding where her side is from?

Any type of information on either of my grandparents would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you. You are so quick. I have spent days putting the same info together. My search from Canada for my Irish ancestors led me on side trip to Australia with all new websites to find. I'm in the process of trying to view Robert's will. It's taking a long time. By the way, according to the death notice of his last surviving daughter, Mary, his wife and children all died of consumption.
Really sad.
According to his will, Robert's beneficiary was his brother Samuel Henry in Tyanee, Co Derry, for anyone looking for a connection.

Hi, My great great grandfather was Julius Selke, his son Edward Augustus, married Elizabeth Hart. Elizabeth was the daughter of James Hart & Lucy Parsons. Elizabeth and Augustus had five children, Ruth Hart 1888 never known as Selke. The five children were Mabel Mary 1894, Ernest Edward 1995,Arthur 1898, Herbert 1900 & Leslie 1902. Edward Augustus was my grandfathers brother. Hope this fills in a few spaces. I have only started doing my family history, it is very time consuming, but enjoyable. Elizabeth.

Hello Denise. I am connected to the family through Ida Loveridge (my Great Grandmother) MaryAnn (Pollie) Loveridge was her sister who was 1 year younger than her.

Pollie married Godfrey Rogers.

I would love to know what happened to Fanny Rogers. I found her shipping record to Australia in 1920 with her sister Elsie, and learned that she was taken in by Daisy Clarke (nee Loveridge), another sister in Sydney.

Who did Fanny marry? Did she stay in Sydney or move to Adelaide?

Ted and Myrtle Loveridge lived in Adelaide, so if she lived with them maybe that was after her time with Daisy in Sydney?

I look forward to hearing from you.

In the Digger index he is shown as aged 65, son of Henry & Nancy (nee McPHERSON). Reg number 2608.

Note the obituary Kellie posted indicates he died 31/12/1888. Death reg in 1889 (though not sure why the reg number is not a lower number in that case!).

The obit also indicates that he outlived his wife and all his children. The index has these:
John b. c1853 London, d. 1873 aged 19
Mary b. c1855, d. 1885 Heathcote aged 29
Robert Hy b. 1859 Sandhurst, d. 1882 Heathcote aged 23
Agnes Jane b. 1861 Heathcote, d. 1881 Heathcote aged 20
Eliza b. 1863 Heathcote, d. 1879 aged 16
Jas Hy b. 1865 Heathcote, d. 1866 aged 9 months
Jas Alexander b. 1867 Heathcote, d. 1867 aged 8 months

His wife Nancy HENRY (nee HENRY) died in 1869 aged 36, daughter of Jas HENRY and Nancy KAYLE, born London (reg 6865).

How sad!!!

Hi,
A search at TROVE (online newspapers) for "robert henry" Heathcote brings up a few results including
""DEATH OF MR ROBERT HENRY.—
We regret having to record the death
of Mr Robert Henry,—a very old and
respected resident of Heathcote—
which sad event took place on Monday
evening last, the 31st .December. It
will he remembered that Mr Henry,
who was a carter by occupation, and
an old contractor for works in the
borough, met with an accident whilst
carting water from the standpipe on
the 7th November last, sustaining a
fractured leg by the wheel of the water
cart going over it. He was admitted
into the Heathcote Hospital on the
day of the accident, and never re-
covered the shock which his system
received, and expired, as before stated,
on Monday evening last, from nervous
debility and shock to the system. He
was a native of Lonelon, County of
Derry, Ireland, and was aged 65 years.
Deceased was a widower, and survived
a family, we believe, of seven, whom he
buried in the Heathcote Cemetery.
The last token of respect was shown
deceased on New Year's Day, when
his remains were followed to their last
resting-place—the Heathcote Cemetery
—by a number of friends, the burial
service being conducted by the Rev. J.
Miller.

Kellie
