Unfortunately, it is evident that the two largest genealogical web sites which accept subnissions from private sources (Ancestry and LDS) are seriously infected with false or suspect information. It appears to stem from the fact that too many people do not differentiate between search and research. These message boards provide an ideal base for searching and the information gathered a good start into research. However, the boards themselves are not instruments for research. The distinction is quite clear but research requires much more effort!
