PASSPORT APPLICATION

I, William Blacklock, a naturalized loyal citizen of the United States, hereby apply to the Department of State at Washington for a passport for myself, accompanied by my wife. I solemnly swear that I was born at Melbourne, Australia on September 1st 1856; that I emigrated to the Unite States on June 1872; that I resided 11 years in the United States, from 1872 to 1883, principally at Oregon, Idaho, & California; that I was naturalized as a citizen of the United States before the Circuit Court of Douglas County, at Oregon, on May 18th, 1880, as shown by the Certificate of Naturalization exhibited herewith; that I am the identical person referred to in said certificate and passport; that my local residence is Sydney, Australia; my temporary residence being at Sydney, Australia; and I last left the United States, ___ May 1913, arrived at Sydney, Australia on May 1913, where I am now residing for the purpose of Commercial Business, on behalf of myself and Wightman & Crane, of San Francisco, Cal., that I have resided outside the United States at the following places for the following periods: Samoa, from November 1883 to 1886; then as American Vice Consul General in Samoa from 1886 to 1903; Australia from 1904 to date; and that I desire to remain a citizen of the United States, and intend to return thereto permanently to reside and perform the duties of citizenship. . . when business is completed.

I have not applied elsewhere for a United States passport or for consular registration and been refused; I desire a passport for use in visiting the countries hereafter named for the following purpose: Australia, New Zealand for Commercial Business.

Oath of Allegiance: Further, I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same, and that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion. So help me God.

I solemnly swear that I was born at Montreal, Canada on the 5th day of April, 1872, that my husband emigrated to the United States on board the Nebraska from Denedin, New Zealand on June, 1872 . . . and that I have resided in the United States uninterruptedly for 39 years, from 1875 to 1904 at Lexington, Virginia; that I am domiciled in the United States, my permanent residence being at Port Orford, Oregon, where I follow the occupation of housewife; that I last left the United States in 1904 on board the S/S Manuka, arrived in Sydney, Australia the 15th day of July 1904; that I have resided in Sydney, Australia since the 15th day of July, 1904 . . . [much the same as William's application above]
