Hi Martian42 - I actually have no idea. John Hendry and Annie Gertrude Jones Hendry took the Aorangi in August 1912 from Wellington to San Francisco. He was my late Mother's father...Gertrude's and John's life in American was not that successful nor was the marriage. My Mother was born in Florida in 1916 - her name was Lela...She and her Mother returned to New Zealand, Auckland to be exact, around 1925 without John. Do any of your Hendry relatives know of him? My GM Gertrude Jones Hendry came from a large family - she was one of 9. Among my other NZ relatives are the Heards of the candy company...sadly I know nothing of the Hendry side...would be grateful if you have any insite. thanks, Liz Spahr
