I'm writing my father's memories of the tiny village of Roughpark in the 1930's (Roughpark was also known as Parkvilla). The village lies in Strathdon, West Aberdeenshire, Scotland. A family of carpenters lived in the village with the surname McGregor. The last was Peter and he left for New Zealand sometime around the 1920's (may have been shortly before??). Peter would have been born about 1878 as he appears there as a 23 year old in the 1901 census. He settled in Wellington and owned the Atlas Motor Company according to a quote in an old newspaper article about the origins of the village of Roughpark.
I'm trying to ascertain what became of him and his company to add some more background to my father's memories, and also try and locate any old photographs of this tiny Aberdeenshire hamlet.
Any assistance gratefully received.
Best Regards
Andrew
