Wow...interesting how people twisted things thru time just to be recoganised by the community....
Through History and by History, there is only one "Matua" of the Leasi Title and that is if bestowed from "Tapaga" which called "Matua o Leasi" in the Faalupega book. If your Leasi title is not from "Tapaga" then you are considered together with others in the "Aiga Sa Leasi" but defintely not the "Matua o Leasi"
I am sorry but Leasi Vainu'upo as I just saw here is not from "Tapaga" so he is considered together with the other Leasi titles in the "Aiga Sa Leasi"
I will not disclose the reasons, the full history and the faavae of the village here but I suggest perhaps you should research more about this or even ask your great grandfather. Those whom are true Sulis of Tapaga, can relate to this and even older Sasina people.
The only three(3) current Leasis that are from "Tapaga" are Leasi Tommy Scanlan (Samoa High Commissioner for NZ, currently resided in Wellington); Leasi Vainalepa Ioane Galuvao (current CEO for Samoa Land Transport Authority) and Leasi Konelio Nanai.
