Hi Glenn,

I too have been confused at times with names, dates, and places. Fortunately I have been in contact with 2 cousins who have documented the Hunkin and Tuitele connections. They, Manumalo and Virginia, have also replied to this site. You should email them as well. We are related on the Tuitele side of the Hunkin line.

Jane and Wayne (Samoan names are Saine and Uaine) are my great grandparents. They had a son, Epati, who is my grandfather. Epati had a son, Penekila (Benjamin) who is my father. That's the extent of my knowledge of my "extended Samoan family line."

My cousins are "full blooded Samoan" and I am part Samoan, English, and Japanese. Although I have been to American Samoa, I am not as familiar with the culture, language, and traditions.

I hope this sheds some light on your research. I know that Manumalo and Virginia can assist you more than I. Best wishes to you!

Aloha,
Deb
