My great great grandfather, John H. Hunt migrated from England to Samoa when Samoa was under the German rule. He was born on 5 August 1822, England. He was married to one of Samoa's High Chief's daughter, Sa Luamoa, from the village of Fasito'otai, Upolu, Samoa. They had 13 children - 9 daughters and 4 sons.
The eldest was Phoebe Hunt, born 19 September 1853. She was married to David Stout Parker, but they had no children and she died soon after her 36th birthday, 30 September 1889.
2nd child was Caroline Hunt, born 2 May 1855. She died at the age of 77 on 18 January 1933.
Third child was Elizabeth Hunt, born 5 December 1856 and she was married to Charles Neztler, and died on 24 September 1894.
4th child was Edward Hunt, born 6 August 1858 who married a Samoan by the name of Faputuga.
5th child was Isaac Hunt, born 27 February 1860. He married Salema Teva, he died on 7 March 1907.
6th child was Edwin Hunt, born 9 August 1861.
7th child was Mary Hunt, born 11 May 1863 and was married to Gustave Danielson, she died on 26 Jan 1939.
8th child was William Hunt, born 31 july 1864, he was married to Vaiula, he died on 14 December 1916.
9th child was Eliza Hunt, born on 8 June 1866 and was married to Fred, she died on 13 Feb 1926.
10th child was Emma Hunt, born 16 July 1868, died in 1937.
11th child was Hannah Hunt, born 3 May 1870, was married to John Johnson, she died on 29 November 1918.
12th child was my great grandmother Matilda Hunt, born 23 May 1871. She married David Stout Parker who first married Phoebe Hunt (an immigrant from America who migrated to the islands, worked for the Germans for 8 years before he started his own business and later became the first millionaire in Samoa). They had 6 children:
1st child was Margorie Amanda Parker born 10 October 1894;
2nd child was Elizabeth Parker born 25 December 1895;
3rd child was Abigail Parker and her married name was Abigail Chegwidden who was born on 24 November, 1897;
4th Solf Parker born on 30 December 1901 who was the father of two of Samoa's famous singers, Dave Parker and John Parker and a grandfather to another famous Samoan singer, Richard Parker who currently resides in Melbourne Australia;
5th child was Thomas Jennings born 9 October 1904;
6th child was my grandfather David Stout Parker Jr, born 11 March, 1907.
All were born in Samoa but they also held US citizenship.
John Hunt and Sa Luamoa's 13th child was Jane Hunt, born 11 April 1873, who was married to Raybert, she died on 20 March 1912.
