Thanks Paul. I've got his name for the ship on Ellis Island records only one day after he recalled - sure it's him. One document calls his mother "Sine" which could be Nelsine or some such I'm sure. His US Marine Corp. enlistment from St. Louis MO files dated 17 Nov 1921 (typed by others) says nearest relative is Mary Jansen (maybe we're spelling it incorrectly previously as Jensen), 27 Blicher St., Aarhus, Denmark. I tried searching the census for 1906 and 1911 and didn't have much luck. My husband says he believes he was apprenticed at a young age - not sure what school or where. He was a tool and dye maker as a later occupation in the US.
