Thanks, that does help quite a bit!
Next on my list is figuring out a bit more about Petrine's mother, Ane Kathrine Jensdatter. Much more common name, to be sure, but I've found a couple of possible connections already:
* There was an "Ane Cathrine Jensen" born in Torslev in 1838 (opslag 83 nr 17); that's the right year based on her age at Petrine's birth.
* An "Ane Cathrine Jensen", age 27, departed Torslev for Skæve in 1865, just one year after Petrine was born (Torslev opslag 65 nr 78, Skæve opslag 110 nr 69). That seems significant because I know that Petrine was later married in Skæve in 1889, even though she was born in Torslev. The Afgangsliste record doesn't indicate anything about Ane taking a child with her, though.
Unfortunately it would appear that the Torslev and Skæve censuses for this time period (1860/1870) aren't available online, so I can't find any real evidence linking the Ane Cathrines above with Petrine's mother.
There are also a couple more Ane Cathrine Jensens listed in the Torslev Afgangsliste, but they're both a couple of years off in age. I think if any of them is Petrine's mother, it's the one I listed.
Do you have any suggestions for further research on her?
