Mvh,
Thank you again for this new area of searching.
I found how to register and did, but now I don't find the area to send a message.

Many Danish people came to Racine Wisconsin in the 1860's.
My g grandmother's father, Jens, (he was a blacksmith and worked for Mitchell Wagon works) and his family came from Sulsted, Kaer, Aalborg. I have found his ancestors back to the early 1800's, but I just don't know where Johanne Nelsdatter/ Nielsdatter came from. Her parents names were Nels/Niels Kristiansen and Maren (not sure if her maiden name was listed) Kristiansen. This was recorded in Racine in 1868.
Johanne had a son, Frank, born in Racine in 1864-66, who was adopted by her hhusband. Frank does not sound like a Danish name?
My thought is that some Danes would associate with others who came from the same region.

I'll keep trying on the forum.
Karen
