Thank you so much. This posting and the one refering to Ancke Hansdatter and Mads Hansen confirm my information (with slight variations). Would I be able to get to the source where you found Hans Thygesen? I speak fluent German (in some ways close to Danish) and have some experience reading the old script. The only translation I found for "opsalg" was posters. Could it mean posting or perhaps volume? I will be in Ballum in the summer 2012 and I would love to have as much research done as possible. Do you have Danish heritage? I'm Scot-Irish (arrival 1805), English (arrival 1640), Danish (arrival 1872), German (arrival 1891) and Swiss (arrival 1888). If I can ever help in these realms, I would be happy to.
