Hi again Sue. I can see everyone is rooting for you. So nice that your most recent poster explained about the online phone book.
That link again. I believe Fredericksberg is within Copenhagen.http://www.degulesider.dk/person/resultat/christian+wedege
In the 1855 census below (also posted earlier), are you interested in contacting the grandchildren of all the children: Ellen, Kirsten, Søren, and Knud? Or is it just Knud’s descendants who interest you? Or is it just your Wedege cousin you wish to find...? If the latter you can ignore all the rest of this note!
Ringkøbing, Hammerum, Gjellerup, Birchbye, En gaard [a farm]
Niels Knudsen 36 [= Niels Uglsøe Knudsen]
Ane Sivebach Sørensen 27 his wife
*Ellen Magrethe Nielsen 8 their child
*Kirsten Marie Kors. Nielsen 6, their child [Kors. = Krosgaard]
*Søren Peder Nielsen 4, their child
*Knud Birk Nielsen 1 year old, their child <-------
Jens Nielsen servant
Maren Christiansen servant
Everyone in the family is born in Gjellerup sogn (parish), in Hammerum herred, in Ringkøbing amt, in Denmark. They are living in “Birchbye“ in Gjellerup sogn. I suppose that would be the same as Birk by (Birk village). Knud Birk Nielsen is said to born in Birk. (I’m spelling this out in case it’s helpful to anyone who might see our posts.)
Here is an online tree in which you see Niels Knudsen and Ane Sivebach Sørensen:http://eop.dk/4937.htm
The creator of this tree (link below) can be contacted through the website. Here you’ll see Knud Birk Nielsen b 1854 (father of Niels Peder Knudsen Nielsen):http://www.povlsen.dk/phpgedview/individual.php?pid=I992&...
This family tree (showing here is Niels Knudsen and Ane Sivebach Sørensen) is cool because it has maps linked to the people:http://www.scharlett.com/getperson.php?personID=I99929754&am...
The creators of these trees may be in contact with someone you want to find.
I believe Knud’s children are as listed below, and their descendants are named in the genealogy link I earlier posted:
1. Anna Johanne Nielsen b 1884 married Erik Eriksen (children Knud Birk Ericksen, Asta Eriksen, Harald Eriksen)
2. Niels Ballum Nielsen b 1885 married Margrethe Ballum (children Knud, Elna, Trea)
3. Bodil Marie Nielsen b 1887 married Anders Christian Mortensen (daughter Kirstine died 2000; she married Arne Wedege died 2008)
4. Niels Peder Knudsen Nielsen - your husband’s branch
5. Mette Johanne Nielsen b 1892 married Cornelius Jensen
6. Rasmine Kristine Petrea Nielsen b 1894 and died in 1964
7. Ellen Kirstine Maria Nielsen b 1897 and died 1943
Some of the descendants are already in your address book, do I have that right? As it stands, we're not sure exactly who it is you'd like to find. We avoid discussing living people online (to protect their privacy) but you can probably find at least a few cousins on Facebook, via a for-pay online people-search service, or with the Danish White Pages (link posted previously). Although reaching out to the poster in the beginning of this thread didn't work out for you, still there remains a very good chance that you can find a long lost cousin, who can lead you to another, and so on, and probably most of the group could be "gathered." I did a simple "Google" search for one name and came up with a phone number - and it might be the right person, since the name is unusual. One more thing: I don't know your situation, but I find my children can usually help with internet and computer tasks with which I am unfamiliar. LOL
Just for fun, here readers can see Gjellerup kirke:http://da.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gjellerup_Kirke

All good wishes, and best to you in the new year.
