To finish my contribution to this thread let me summon up - including some additional info from the census records. I searched through the original handwritten census records and extracted relevant information concerning the Nielsen family (also checking birth dates against the parish registers):

Niels Christian Nielsen, born 8. June 1863 in Torslev Parish, Øster Han District, Hjørring County
to Jens Peder Nielsen & Maren Christensen.
Died 7. Feb. 1935 in Haverslev Parish, buried in Torslev Parish.

Maren Cathrine Nielsen, born 19. July 1865 in Vissenbjerg Parish, Odense District, Odense County to Rasmus Nielsen & Grethe Kirstine Andersen.
Died 14. May 1943 in Haverslev Parish, buried in Torslev Parish.

Married 23. March 1886 in Haverslev Parish.

Census 1890 Torslev Parish:
Rasmus and Jens Peter living with parents.

Census 1901 Torslev Parish, page 739:
Jens Peter, Marinus, Karl, Andreas and Frederik living with parents.

Census 1906 Torslev Parish, page 28-29:
Jens Peter, Marinus, Karl, Andreas and Frederik living with parents.

Census 1911 Torslev Parish, page 67:
Jens Peter, Marinus, Andreas, Frederik, Margrethe and Maren living with parents.

Census 1916 Torslev Parish, page 60-61:
Andreas, Frederik, Margrethe and Maren living with parents.

Census 1921 Torslev Parish, page 67-68:
Andreas, Margrethe and Maren living with parents.

Census 1925 Haverslev Parish, page 22:
Margrethe and Maren living with parents.

Census 1930 Haverslev Parish, page 18:
Parents only; all children gone. 8 living / 4 dead children noted.

There may be descendants in Denmark after 5 of the children:

- Jens Peter Nielsen, born 2. Oct. 1888.

- Andreas Nielsen, born 2. Sep. 1896.

- Frederik Nielsen, born 15. June 1898.

- Margrethe Nielsen, born 6. June 1906.

- Maren Nielsen, born 3. Dec. 1907.

NB: Martin Nielsen, born 18. Sep. 1890, died 17. July 1908; not married.

One critical issue is that Niels Christian Nielsen and Maren Cathrine Nielsen were members of a so called “Free Missionary Movement”. Members of this movement did not attend ceremonies in the official Lutheran church, but had their own “temple” in Brovst city not far from the place Niels Chr. and Maren lived.
Persons from this movement are not christened as children although a birth of a child should be noted in the parish record. Adult christening and/or confirmation is not noted. Marriages are noted as civilian marriages only. A burial will take place at a local cemetery and will be noted in the parish record.
Marriage records would be the way ahead under normal circumstances, but only fractions of the civilian marriage registrations are available online.
It’s no wonder that I found only one record checking Torslev and Haverslev parish (the death of the son Martin). And most likely the siblings moved out of those parishes anyway.
Death records of the 5 siblings mentioned above will most likely be so recent (i.e. 1950-1990) that they not are published online.
There are no public census records after 1930.

What I’m also telling you is that I would only invest more time in this project if these people were my own family!
