Well, interesting but probably not the right guy. The family tree says Niels Christensen was born about 1720 in Brøns and that his son Christen Nielsen Thiim was born 21 April 1757 in Brøns. This would be Brøns sogn, Hviding herred, Tønder amt, Denmark. We haven't found those birth records yet to see if that's correct, but it makes sense (in terms of where the family would be). As you are attempting to verify, switch over to that place (Brøns sogn, Hviding herred, Tønder amt, Denmark) when searching the Danish Family Search site or the Danish State Archives (Arkivalieronline.dk):http://www.sa.dk/content/dk/ao-forside
Niels Christensen is a common name, and it is only too possible a boy of that name was born in other places in about that same year. The Niels you found was born New Years Day 1721 in Øster Brønderslev, Børglum, Hjørring. The effort you are making is worthwhile, regardless. It's a learning experience!
