In this American "twig" , it was adopted to drop the second "A". I dont know exactly why. I guess they thought it more Americanized without it. There are 4 generations of us living in America and we are all related. We are the only Ellingsgard's in America that we are aware of. I did have the genealogy of Ellen Marie Joensdatter Nolsoe back to her grandfather and that was as far as I could get. But the real begininng of ELLINGSGAARD
began with Knud Olsen from the Ellingsgaard farm in Norway. He brought it to faeroe Isle in 1744 as far as I am aware.
