Thank you very much for this search tip!
I found Nick and Amalia on 3 census 1920-1940 and Nikolai's WWI registration giving his birth date of 5.18.1875. He listed his wife in 1918 as Amalia Koivisto living at 213 South Ave. He arrived in NY 12.2.1900 going to Duluth. Passport issued 11.15.1900.
Elli is found on a ship manifest 12.18.1919 going to her father Nicolai Koivisto in Two Harbors MN. She is listed as a student at Suomi College in Hancock 1919-1920.
Sadly I found a death record for Elli 2.14.1920 in Hancock.
I am still searching for Amalia Nukala from the time she arrived in 11.1900 until she married Nick Koivisto sometime before 1918. I can't find her on a 1910 census. Her first cousins were living in the Ironwood area.
I am interested in your Nukala Alahärmä line. I have our Nukala parish records with early roots in Nurmo. You can send me a message through the Ancestry message system.
Thanks so much for your help and search of the communion records in Laihia.
