Hello, John...

You and I had a brief correspondence a few years ago regarding my grandfather, Michael Slick. I'm sure the thread will refresh your memory. I am no further today than I was then. However, I may have stumbled upon a clue. I found a ship's passenger list that has the name of Michael Szillack. Correct birth date, and arrival date. Could you tell me the pronunciation of the last name? I'm thinking "SHE lack". It would be very close to what my aunt, his daughter, told me she remembered "on chee lick". I have found no one else who fits this closely. And, he was from Wilna, Russia.
I would so appreciate your take on this clue.
Regards,
Flora Stoneberg
