The 1930 Census has them both listed as AL (Alien) which means they never even started the naturalization process.

A lot of aliens didn't but with the passage of the Alien Act of 1940, there was a sudden rush to start the citizenship process.

I will check for them in the 1940 Census to see if i can find them.
