My ancestors came from "Vilna/Russia" in the late 1800's early 1900's to Rhode Island. In several instances (especially on ship records) they indicate they are from a town called either Plitiany, Plitjany, or some version thereof. I have been unable to find this town on the map. Any ideas or leads on its location would be appreciated.
