Ungkarl [bachelor/single man] Hans Guldbrandsen, age 27, living at Randby eie and Pigen [single woman] Ane Hansdatter, age 35, living at Stokker eie. Hans was born at Sundbergeie [and moved to Randby eie] and Ane was born at Stokkereie. Hans' father's name is Gulbrand Christophersen Randbyeie. Ane's father's name is Hans Olsen Stokkereie.
The remaining information is the name of the two witnesses and the info for the reading of the banns for three Sundays before they were married, and smallpox vaccination info.

A betrothal was a binding contract as good as marriage, so it often happened that the couple started "practicing" at marriage before the date of marriage, so to speak; this resulted in many pregnancies before marriage. Since the betrothal was made before Jacob Gunerius Hansen was born, he was considered legitimate.
