Of course! How dumb of me! The parish records are in Bygland. The death record for the Andres Johnsen Hamre that I am thinking could be the Stallemo child is found on page 263 of year 1841; #22.
The first Andres Johnson Staldemoen (Stallemo) was born on Sept 22, 1833 and his birth record can be found on page 116, #26. I'm not sure of the boundaries for farms or where they were living in 1833. What I do know is when the 2nd Andres Johnson Stallemo was born in 1843 and is recorded on page 15/16 #59, there were two people listed as "witnesses/sponsors" on page 16 who have the name Hamre associated with them. I could find no birth record for a Andres Johnsen Hamre born close to 1833, so that is what makes me think that the Andres who died in 1841 was the child of John Andresson and Gunild Nielsdatter Stallemo. I will appreciate any ideas, comments, suggestions. Obviously I need to do more work on this myself but my free time is very limited. Thank you.
