Rønnaug Evensdatter (Melgaard), was a sponsor/witness to two of her grandsons' baptisms in 1905 and 1907 in Sør-Aurdal, Oppland County. As I mentioned earlier, she was not present in her son's household at the time of the 1910 Norway census. So maybe she DID immigrate to America?

I looked for a similar sounding/spelling name of Rønnaug in the 1900 and 1905 censuses, and came up with no matches.
Unfortunately, there are no online Wisconsin death indexes, circa 1920-1950 (at least that I'm aware of). To confirm my hunch that Rønnaug Evensdatter (Melgaard), born April 23, 1845, died in La Crosse County, one would have to contact:
