Question about my G-Grandfather's occupation

I found my great grandparents wedding banns in the Trefoldighet parish and I think my g-grandfather's occupation says postbud (postman?). Is this right?

Lauritz and Antonette’s banns: bottom of the page entry 45

Source information: Oslo county, Trefoldighet, Banns register nr. 2 (1870-1878), Banns records 1878, page 190.

I was told by my grandmother that he played the coronet in the King's Guard in Christiana before coming to the U.S. in 1880. He was very proud of that. Does anyone know if the musicians in the King's Guard are part-time? Could he have done that as a young man in the military before becoming a postman??
I have had no luck finding him in the 1865 census in Christiana or Ostre Toten. He was born in Ostre Toten on Dec. 18, 1849 but only his parents are listed on the Askim Farm in Ostre Toten in 1865. He married in Christiana in 1878.

I hope someone is able to answer my questions. Thank you!
