I am searching for info on my ggrandmother, Bertha Jesehdal Williams. She was born Oct.29, 1834 in Christianna(now Oslo), Norway. I have been told that she may have come from royalty but didn't want to marry whom her family may have picked. She wanted to marry a farmer. She took the name Williams from a cousin and left Norway, date unknown. She met my ggrandfather on a ship near Chicago, Illinois, USA, and they married in America. If anyone could help me figure where to go next, or might have info about her, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
