Hi - my grandmother's aunt and uncle, Martial and Mary Durand, moved to Norway from the United States sometime in the late 1930s. They became the care-takers (governess?) for a child named Peter from Løkka, Larvik (Vestfold). My grandmother (Martial's niece) was told that Peter was a "prince", so we're not sure if he was somehow related to the Norwegian Royal Family, or the son of an aristocrat. My only clue is the attached Christmas card from Aunt Mary dated 1952, showing a picture of her "charge" named Peter. From his apparent age, he was likely born between 1938 and 1943. The card indicated they lived in Løkka, Larvik (Vestfold) in 1952. Any help in identifying Peter or in determining the fate of Mary and Martial Durand is appreciated. We believe Martial died in Løkka sometime in the 1940s - perhaps during the German occupation in WW2. His wife Mary probably died between 1952 and 1970, given her age (b. abt 1890).
