Heidi,

You gave me some great tips and I am sure it will help. When is the "new" site expected? Am anxious to hear?

As for Anne. There are only two Anne's listed in the bible. One is Albert's mother, spelled Ane in the bible, with a birth of 1817 and a death of 1898. The other is Anne T. Gravaas with a death date of 02 Jan 1908. Next to a picture in the back is listed "Anne T. Gravos mother of children". I really wasn't sure myself until I found the bible which listed the birth and death date of Kari, died 27 DEC 1891. Albert had six children: Anna Marie b. 1894 MN, d. 1927in OR. Anton Thomas b. 28 May 1896 IA, d. 1946 in Alameda, CA, Clara Amanda b. 24 NOV 1898 IA, Iver Oscar b. 03 NOV 1900 IA, Harold Theodor (my grandfather) b. 16 MAR 1903 IA, and Alice Magrete b/ 08 MAR 1906. I found the family living in Cresco IA in the 1900 Census and the 1910, but Anne was not listed on the 1910.
I have requested information on death records or an obit and nothing has been found in IA. Not knowing her maiden name I can not really be sure of anything. Only what the bible says and the information passed down verbally.

1. She was related to the first wife. (I didn't know who was the first or the second until I found the bible which has a marriage record for Kari and Albert....also in LDS files.

2. I am assuming she died in or near Cresco, IA as she is listed there in 1900 but not in 1910, even though Albert and the children are still listed.

3. Cannot find a record of marriage under Alberts name for Anne and Albert...or Albert and anyone else....which I find strange if they listed Kari and Albert in 1888, seems they would have one on a marriage that took place later...wouldn't you think?

Anyway, you have given me a great bunch of information and a great starting place. I am not excited and looking forward to finding more on my Norwegian ancestry. I was beginning to think they didn't exsist and I would never find them...but thanks to you I am that much closer to solving this puzzle.

Thank you so much againl
Vicki
