The origin of the family surname is a little subfarm Morbekk in Vanse (now Farsund), Vest-Agder. It is part nr 3 of Dyngvold farm, mentioned page 676 in Lista II bygdebok.

Johannes Torgersen, born 1823, was son of Torger Olsen and Karen Reiersdatter: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=9883&i...
Johannes and his brothers Sakarias and Kristian Andreas moved to Stavanger (according to the book).
