Your Charles C. Johnson must be the one that was married to Caroline and had children Edwad, Annie and Carl, right? I see the family in the 1910 census for Holmes, Michigan. Both this census and the 1940 Oneida County, WI census say he was born in Sweden in 1855. The 1910 census says he immigrated in 1873.

His first name in Sweden was probably Carl/Karl - and not Charles. His last Name could have been Johnsson or Johansson.

Did he marry in Menominee County, Michigan? The 1880 shows a Chas Johnson, 26, Born in Sweden, living in Breitung, Menominee, Michigan.
