General Research question regarding Bygdebok

How accurate are bygdeboker?

I have inherited one and a similar resource and have managed to find several of my immigrant ancestors in these books. After I discovered how to navigate through them, I was able to discover several more ancestors and their descendants. These books alone have increased the amount of names in my family tree exponentially.

I am wary, however, of the accuracy of the information. I realize that these books are a secondary source at best. Should I add my numerous discoveries to my family file in hopes of connecting with distant relatives? Looking for opinions and thank you in advance.
