I'm desperately trying to find more information on Gunnar Knutson Thune's (1774-1860, Aal, Norway) family members...most importantly his children.
Gunnar Knutson Thune (born 1774, died 1860) was married to Anne Tollevsdatter (born 1789, died 1879). They had a farm in Aal, Norway. They had several sons and daughters, two of whom emigrated to Minnesota, USA in the 1860's: Lars G. Thune (born 1826) and Gunder G. Thune (born 1830).
Lars G. Thune was married to Anne Moen (born 1839). They emigrated to Minnesota in 1864 along with their son, Gunder (born 1862) who unfortunately died on the ship on the way to America after hitting rough seas. I am a direct descendant of Lars and Anne Thune (he would be my great, great, great grandfather).
I am interested to see if I still have distant relatives in Norway who come from the Thune farm. I am also interested to see where the Thune farm once stood if it no longer exists; or if it does exist, where it is exactly. My hope is to one day travel to Aal to visit where my ancestors emigrated from and to fully immerse myself in Norwegian culture.
Unfortunately I do not speak Norwegian, so most national archives I've come across are hard to decipher. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
