My family is traveling to Norway for the first time June 19th. My great grandparents were Gjert Elias and Bergitte Jonesdatter Hatlen. My great grandfather was born near Vaqavik and was in the military and had a small farm. They attended the Orskog Lutheran Church at Sjoholt. Their picture is hung in this church today and we hope to locate in during our trip. I am wondering if any one has knowledge of this area and if we have distance relatives still living in that area.
