I was wondering if anyone can help me with some census or church records look ups? I am trying to find information on my grandmother's family from Sweden.
This is what I know:
My great-grandmother, Hanna Victoria Hansson (Hansdotter) was born in Sweden (parish unknown) on 27 Jul 1871. She immigrated to America on 15 Mar 1888, by herself.
Mother: Bergette F. Davidsen (Davidsdotter) from Norway
Father: Seved Hansson and he was born on 02 Jan 1837 in Laholm, Halland, Sweden.
Seved was the son of Hans Esbjorgson of Sweden who died about 1837 and Inger Sevedsdotter of Laholm, Halland, Sweden who was born 20 Dec 1806.
Seved was a Methodist Pastor who traveled around Sweden and Norway. They had 6 children (3 girls and 3 boys) 3 born in Norway (Bethia, Peder, Katinka) and 3 born in Sweden (Hannah, Seth, David).
Some family history states that Hans Esbjorgson died when Seved was 6 months old and his mother died when he was 7 1/2 years old. It's said that his mother remarried to a Knudsen, his father's half-brother. Hans' half brothers were Edvard, Nils, and Peder Knudsen and half sister Patronelle (Pella). She married and lived in Odense, Denmark.
The other family legend is that my family came from Italy to Sweden when Fyrsti Mamoniqui was exiled out during a revolution in Italy back in the 1700s. He purchased a large part of Sweden and married a girl from Holland (Margareta Svensdotter) and owned an estate in Kopenge, Sweden.
Their oldest daughter was born in Norway in 1868 and then Hanna and 2 of her brothers were born in Sweden from 1871 - 1875 and then the youngest 2 born in Norway in 1884 and 1885.
I do know that in 1900 and 1910 he and his wife and 5 of his grown children were in Norway and appear on their census during that time.
What I am looking for is more info on Seved and his children (especially my great-grandmother) that were born in Sweden and possibly more on his parents and who their parents were and if there are any records to back up the family legend. The "legend" is said to come from a "family register written in a Swedish preacher-book".
I know it's a lot to ask but if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. I can't seem to find any searchable information online for Sweden.
Thanks for any help that can be provided.
