That is an excellant theory actually. It is sometimes hard to place ourselves in another time and place so different from our own. I know that my great grandmother Carolina was referred to as a very faithful christian woman. After what I have seen of the records, I think that the family story is probably very accurate. She was born in 1866 and her parents went on to marry in 1869 and the next child was born in 1870. It is really fascinating to see the pieces of their life come together. I am going to check out all of these links that you have sent to me and really find out what the history of the land and the people was like so that I can get a better feel for the time. I hope to put it all down in a book someday for my kids. I have quite a few pictures of my great grandmother and her sisters. I am going to research a little about the food of the time as well and hopefully include some recipes. I love to cook so that is exciting to me as well. Very very exciting to me, thank you very much for your help.
