Oops, I spoke too soon, by googling Säll+Skepperstad, I came across a story about a murder in Skepperstad in 1872. In 1885 the son of the murdered man moved in with his grandmother who was the widow of master sergeant and saltpeter boiler Jonas Säll. So it looks like Jonas was the soldier not his son. My hunt goes on. If anyone has access to military records, I would appreciate help with this. Thank you. Mary Ann Säll
