Estoy investigando la historia de mi familia. Busco descendientes de
Carmelo Spataro (o Spadaro) quien era hermano de mi abuela. Carmelo viajó
de Valguarnera Caropepe, Sicilia, Italia para Buenos Aires, aproximadamente en 1908 o 1909. La última carta que la familia recibió de él fue en el año 1920 - 1928 y en
ésta mencionó que tenia cuatros hijos y que su esposa había fallecido ya.

Si Uds. tienen alguna información sobre Carmelo Spadaro, o son
descendientes de esa familia, les agradecería muchísimo respondieran a esta
carta. Aquí en los EE UU Carmelo todavía tiene un sobrino y dos sobrinas que

TURLOCK -Funeral services for Margaret A. Dignes, 53, of Turlock will be conducted at 10 AM tomorrow in the Norton Mortuary.
She died Wednesday afternoon in a Modesto hospital following an extended illness.
The Rev. Neal Pearson of the Nazareth Luthern Church will officiate. Interment will be in Turlock Cemetery.
Mrs. Dignes, a native of Stent, Tuolumne County was reared there and in Sonora, Tuolumne County. She resided in Modesto prior to her marriage in 1936 to Berger (sp) Dignes. They resided in Turlock after their marriage.
She leaves her widower, Berger; two sons, James Varni of Sonora and Larry Dignes of Turlock; three brothers, John A. Bogan of Los Angeles, Mark Bogan of Stent and James Bogan of Turlock; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Silver of Vallejo, Mrs. Inez Raymond of Fresno, Mrs. Hannah Bergantinos of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Mrs. Josephine Johnson of Salinas, Monterey County.

I beleave as a Bible Teacher, or something to do with a Univercity possably.
Most if not all his children were born, educated, & are still in Cordoba. All of his Brothers & Sisters are now passed on, my Father Frank N Powell, the last passed on in Jan.1975.

Segun pienso la familia Kantrowitz immigro a la Argentina de Alemania durnate los a~os 1930 pero antes de 1938. Deseo obtener informacion sobre mi familia proveniente de Oliva, en especial de la parte de mi padre. Mi abuelo se llamaba Emiliano Peralta. No estoy segura de la fecha de nacimiento, pero me imagino que fue alrededor de 1900. El vivio siempre en Oliva. Se caso con Cecilia/Esther Gigena y tuvieron un solo hijo, al que llamaron Hector Omar Peralta. El era mi padre que nacio en el '26 y ya ha muerto.Necesito averiguar mis origenes por una cuestion de identidad nacional. Nadie en la familia sabe de donde proviene este apellido tan espa~nol, ya que aparentemente todos han nacido en Argentina. Mi teoria es que en algun momento uno de la familia (tal vez todos criollos) tomo el apellido de nacionalidad espa~nola sin serlo.
Si alguno tiene alguna idea de como ayudarme haganmelo saber.

The Wullenkamper-Van de Nieuwenhof Family

I'm looking for more details about the life of the carpenters Heinrich Wullenkamper and his brother-in-law Johannes van de Nieuwenhof. They moved from Germany to Argentina in 1916, leaving their families behind.
In 1924, Johannes was living in Martinez (province of Buenos Aires), according to the marriage certificate of his son.
After that, they probably moved to Cordoba.
In 1933, however, Heinrich died in Cordoba, and 5 years later, in 1938, Johannes died, somewhere in Argentina, but most probably in Cordoba.
Is there someone who can tell me more about their lives as a carpenter ? Is their infornmation about them ? When exactly did Johannes die, and did they probably marry for the second time in Argentina ? I want to know everything about them !!

The Anglo-Dutch artist and painter Sir Lawrence ALMA-TADEMA (1836-1912) was married to Laura Theresa EPPS (1852-1909).
Lady Laura ALMA-TADEMA had a sister called Louisa EPPS (1846-1909). Louisa married Roland Hill (1843-1879), a London stock broker.
According to art historical sources Roland and Louisa had to fle to Argentina in 1872 because of a stockmarket scandal.
According to the Calendar of Wills for 1879 Roland HILL died 18 June 1879. At the probation of his will he is described as formerly of Hungerford Road, Camden Road, Middlesex and of the Stock Exchange London, but late of "Villa Maria, Santa Fe, Argentina". No town of the name of Villa Maria seems to exist in the province of Santa Fe, so probably the town of that name in the province of Cordoba is meant.
Can one of the readers of this message confirm the death of Roland HILL on 18th June 1879 in Villa Maria, Cordoba??
Please give full references and sources.
