It may be of interest to members of the Chile community to know that my book entitled 'A history of the British presence in Chile' has recently been published by Palgrave-Macmillan. There is a great deal of background historical information on the British in commerce, industry, railways etc., and on the British communities in Valparaiso, Patagonia, Concepcion, Antofagasta, Santiago and so on. There is also a section on British names which have prospered in Chile, such as Blest, Cooper, Edwards, King, MacIver, Perry. I would be interested to hear from others who have undertaken research into the genealogy of British immigrants to Chile.
