I am in the process of tracing my family through my father's side. He was born in Lima, Peru in 1953 to Rosa Esther Noriega of Trujillo and Jaime Solano Chavez of Arequipa. He is the youngest of their three sons, the others being Jaime and Luis Chavez. The only other info I have so far is Rosa's mother was Salome Herminia Morales also of Trujillo.

Can anyone help me to find my mothers birth certificate she was born in Lima on the 15th March 1921 to British parents but her birthcertificate was not registered with the British Consul so is not available in England. Looking for any info on Fernando Sanguesa Herranz and family. He was born in 1878 in Zaragoza Spain and came to Montreal about 1906, then to Lima Peru about 1926, where he died about 1951. May have been in the Spanish diplomatic corps. Married Rosario Choza Sanchez in Madrid 1899 and had several children all of whom, I think went to Peru - Pablo, Jaime, Hamlet, Eduardo, Ferdinand, Carmen, Jessie, Mary. Married again in Guayaquil, Peru to Clemencia Calderon and had a son Fernando Sanguesa Calderon who was a doctor in Lima in 1967.

(o Spataro) quien era hermano de mi abuela. Carmelo viajó de Valguarnera Caropepe, Caltanissetta, Sicilia, Italia para Buenos Aires, aproximadamente en 1906. La última carta que la familia recibió de él fue en el año 1920 - 1928 y en ésta mencionó que tenia cuatros hijos y que su esposa había fallecido ya. Carmelo Spadaro nacio en el año 1883. Su mama se llamaba Anna Pellegrino (1859-1929) nacio en San Filippo, Messina, Sicilia. Su papa, Domenico Spadaro (1838-1897) nacio en Santa Lucia del Mela, Messina, Sicilia. Carmelo Spadaro tiene dos hermanas llamadas Nunziata y Giuseppa Spadaro.

Interested in finding any information about the Von Althaus or Von Kaas families who migrated to Peru in the 17 or 1800's. My Grandmother on my mothers side was a von kaas. Her grandfather was George Carl August Von Kaas who migrated to America in the 1850's from Schamburg-Lippe,Germany. I am trying to trace any peets who left England for Peru, my GG uncles left Liverpool to work for the Pacific Steam Company (so I was told) my uncles names were Henry Ernest Peet (1861) and william Peet(1865) I think. not too sure, their father was Pearson Peet (1828) and mother Mary Miller (1838) so the census tells me, any info whatever re. I just wrote, all the information that I have available right now.
Well, I will start by telling you that I am originally from Peru in South America living in Sydney-Australia now.
My great great grandfather migrated to Peru from Italy in the 18 hundreds, his name was Sebastiano or Sebastian Calvi, we believe that he was born in 1831 somewhere in Italy, we don't have enough records of the location or place where he is from in Italy, the only record officially available is his death certificate which states his age, nationality (not place stated only country) & date of passing (04/Jan/1903). He was married to Josefina Merasini, he had a son named Guillermo Calvi (Born around 1869 we don't know whether he was born in Italy or Peru) then Guillermo had my grandfather named Santiago Calvi (Born 6/Jan/1898 in Lima-Peru) then Santiago had my uncles & my mum whose name is Genara Calvi (Born in 1948).
This is so far all I know, we don't know much about my mum's family because of the way my grandfather was, always very reserved & quite about his family + he being older than the average father did not help my mum and uncles to collect information. Then the fact that all of them were dying as mum was growing up. Another obstacle we found is that in Peru we don't keep much information in centralised databases connected to foreign ones, is all over the place & extremely difficult to get without mentioning that some of the information searched for might have been destroyed (fires, earthquakes etc).
This is all I have. I would appreciate if you can indicate me the right direction to follow now.
Anything that could help me in this search is welcome.

Por lo que he podido averiguar Agurto y Aburto son dos variantes de un mismo apellido, el cual mutó a Aburto entre 1704 y 1745, pues la forma Agurto aparece antes en los censos de Vizcaya y no después. Por tanto, quienes dieron origen a este apellido en América tuvieron que emigrar antes de la mutación. He encontrado la forma Agurto en Chile, Ecuador, Perú y Nicaragua. En Perú el apellido se encuentra establecido principalmente en Piura. Es probable que exista conexión entre los Agurto de Sullana, Piura con los de Loja, Ecuador.

I need some assistance with researching my husband's family history in Chile, Peru, and possibly Venezuela. I do not speak or read Spanish. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

According to my research, Washington Michael Jacobs, born c.1828 in South Carolina, went to South America (date unknown). He married Rosa Moulet who was born around 1855 in Chile to French parents. Their elder three children were born in Peru starting around 1875-76. By 1880 they were in Oakland, CA.

According to family legend, Washington was something of an inventor. He invented what we today would call a "torpedo". He attempted to sell it to the Venezuelan government. When they wouldn't buy it he then attempted to sell it to the Argentinian government. The problem was that Venezuela and Argentina were at war at the time. He was given 24 hours to get out of the county.

Any assistance would be very greatly appreciated.
