You will see several scientific articles published regarding your ancestor´s contribution to the history of urology in Venezuela. On Nov. 4, 1907, Dr. Coates performed the first prostatectomy in Maracaibo, the second largest city in Venezuela, (removal of a prostate gland) won him medical acceptance indeed, as it is even mentioned in the Gaceta Medica de Caracas (it is one of the links you will find furing your web search but here goes..: http://www.scielo.org.ve/scielo.php?pid=S0367-47622001000300...)
