Hi!

I was wondering if you have proof he was from Antwerp. Because it's not because he departed from the port of Antwerp to the USA (I found the record as well on ellisisland.org), he was born there or he lived there. Belgium is a small country and it doesn't have that many ports. Especially where ships departed to cross the ocean.

It would be helpfull if you had any more information. Was his name spelled differently on other documents?

If his age on the documents I found is correct, he should have been born in about 1874, but if I don't have a location, it's going to be difficult in determining the right Louis Van de Cavey..

I have found one born in 6 Aug 1873 and the researcher doesn't have a date of death, which could mean the person would have emigrated. But then again I'm can't be sure this is the one you have been looking for..

This is the one I found:

If you have any other information, do tell me or contact me through sarah.lavigne@hotmail.be

Thank you!
