I recently found the marriage record of an ancestor from Brussels via the digital archives. I also found the birth of his children (all of these records from the early 1700s, same parish). Unfortunately, the name of the ancestor above was not listed in the birth index for that parish. None of the records contain any information about the origin of the family, (and the marriage record does not list parents' names). Does this lack of information have any significance - i.e., if the person on the record were from outside Belgium would it necessarily be noted? I am not sure if I should check all of the parishes in Brussels, or just conclude that he was born outside Belgium altogether. Any advice would be much appreciated.
