At least through January 2005, I have access to the films of the Suarlee and Grand Leez original b, m, and d. records now at the Namur Archives. The records are from the 1600s through 1899. There are indexes so I'm willing to do lookups. Most records are civil but before 1795 they are church records of baptisms, marriages, burials and some confirmations.

Gravesite Photo

I am trying to find someone who lives in or near Fosse, Belgium (about 6 miles southwest of Namur and 7 miles southeast of Charleroie, Belgium) who would be willing to take a photograph of a gravesite. My grandmother's brother, Joseph Patryllo, was killed in WWII and was buried in Fosse, at the U. S. Military Cemetery, Plot 1, Row 8, Grave 144. Although my grandmother has recently passed away, she has two remaining siblings that were never able to visit Joseph's gravesite to pay their respects. I thought, if someone, could take a picture and email or send it to me, they both would greatly and eternally grateful. They do not know I am making this request for I don't want to get their hopes up. If anyone can help with this request, please email me at cazmike@comcast.net.

Berry Henebiens.
bhenebiens@hotmail.com

Looking for anyone who might have information on the supposed "emigration permits'' that the Belgian were required to have before boarding ship and coming to America. Apparently the local court issued these. I have also heard that they contain a lot of personal information, and are therefore a very important piece of genealogical information. You can e-mail me directly at trina@itol.com .

Thanks !!
