André and Diana Deketelaere in Torhout : looking for the rest of the story!

My grandfather, Heinrich Lohmeyer, served during WW1 as a medical orderly in Flanders - more specifically in Torhout. Among his photographs, I have found a postcard depicting a young couple (André and Diana Deketelaere). On the back of the postcard, both have written and signed a message of great thanks to my grandfather for a great service he had apparently rendered to them. I do not know what service that may have been - it may have been related to his post at the hospital. The postcard was clearly important enough to my grandfather to keep it for all these years. Can you identify André and Diana? They look to be in their early 20's in the attached 1918 photograph. Are they related to you? If so, I would appreciate hearing about any stories that might help me understand what service my grandfather might have rendered to them. I am currently writing a biography about my grandfather and if there was a story from around 1918 that was still remembered in the Deketelaere family around Torhout that might relate to my grandfather, I would be most interested to hear it.

I have attached a copy of the postcard in the hope that it might assist to establish whether there is a link or not - do you recognise the two individuals?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers,
Matt in Sydney, Australia
