Hi Bruce,

Yes, that is exactly what I was thinking. When John was still living in Detroit I found a census that said he was in training to become a tinsmith. Last night I found a source online that said Jacob Regnery married Christine Barlage Mayer on October 17,1850 in Detroit MI . They were Catholic and belonged to Our Lady of Help Church . Christine, Jacob, Jacob Jr. Frank,Wilhelmine (Minnie) and 2 infant children are all buried together at the Regnery monument at Mt. Elliott Cemetery. I wish I had some pictures I could share with you. I only have a few pictures of my grandfather Bertram William Regner who was Jacob Jr. son. I am going to start researching the German connection. Let me know if you would like any additional information about the Detroit relatives. Believe it or not the entire family has resided in suburbs of Detroit ever since.

Enjoy your day,
Rosemarie
