Good morning, cousin...
Yes, we are related. While you descend from the Major's son, William, I come down from his oldest daughter, Marianne, who married Dr. William Henry Turpin. I assume that you are from the line of William's son, Harriss Henry who married Mattie Sibley? If so, I think that would make us first cousins, however many generations removed.
I lived in Rockdale County, Georgia, until moving to Texas about 11 years ago. Marianne and the doctor's oldest son, John Beverly Turpin, had only one surviving child, William Henry Turpin, who moved to Henry County, Georgia, in the 1870s. I descend from his son, John Jackson Turpin.
