My Mother is trying to find the grave of her great uncle Percy William Mitchell who died in Royat in 1944 in his 80's. He was an Englishman (and therefore, presumably Protestant) but married to a Frenchwoman, Leontine Cornelie Henry la Blanchetais, and had lived in France from the mid 1890's, working as personal assistant/amanuensis to J Gordon Bennet, founder and editor of the International Herald Tribune based in Paris. He was also a Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur for his services to journalism. We believe he moved to Vichy France with his wife following the German invasion. Can anyone out there help to track down his grave, or any other information about him? His daughter, Leonie Marion Mitchell, was an internationally recognised Doctor of Law (Sorbonne) and it was she who registered his death.
