I descend from the Archal's/Rachals who came from St. Denis, Ile d'Oreon, France, where is this and how do I begin, the last know relative to be born there was in 1698. He was baptised at the Paroisse de St.Denis catholic that was already a millenium old at that time, I want to know more about his family, his name was Piere Rachal/Archal, the name was changed to Archal one he came to Louisiana in the French Army, I would also like to know how to get French Army records of that time.
