SALLOT, AUBRY hometowns

August Charles AUBRY (b.ca.1832); his wife, Emilie SALLOT (b.ca.1827-1832); along with Emilie's sister, Marie Adele SALLOT (b.ca.1827-1832) landed at NYC on 26 May 1857 on the ship Wm. Nelson out of Le Havre. The three went to New Albany, IN, where Adele mrd. August IMHOFF (b.1827 at Soyhieres, Berne[now Jura], Switzerland). Both families moved to Cleveland during the Civil War. Afterwards, the AUBRY/SALLOTs moved to Custar, Wood Co., OH and the IMHOFF/SALLOTs moved to Vincennes, Knox Co., IN. Due to the numbers of SALLOTs in Haute-Saone, I assume that is the origin of these AUBRY and SALLOTs. I have been searching the Tables Decanalles for Naissance (births) but have yet to come across a reasonable SALLOT hometown. Can anyone find the AUBRY/SALLOT marriage before 26 May 1857?? Thanks!

I know that they had four sons born there between 1874 and 1879 and that they emigrated to the USA sometime in 1880. Their sons names were Jacques, Gaston, Edmond and Maurice. I have no information on this couple prior to the birth of their first son, Jacques. Information on Maurice's marriage certificate in the US shows Jeannette's surname as BLOCH. They settled first in New York City, then Jersey City, NJ.
Any information will be much appreciated.

They had one known child: Claude Francois RONDOT born 21 Nov 1835, and who died 2 Aug 1883, probably in France.

I am interested in the parents and siblings of Victorie BOULE and any info on her descendants. Also on the siblings and/or ancestors of Nicolas DAVAL.

Frotey les Lure is located in the Haute-Saone "department" of France, near the little village of Moffans. Most of the RONDOT family was from Moffans.

Nicolas RONDOT was the son of Claude RONDOT and Marie Francoise (--?--). I am also hoping to gain information on Nicolas, his siblings and ancestors. Need the surname for Marie Francoise; their marriage date, etc.

Carolyne
I would like to correspond with anyone researching the names Courtot, Pacot, Rosselot just to name a few who lived in and around the Andelnans area in the Territory of Belfort in Franche-Comte. My ancestor Joseph Courtot settled in Clermont County Ohio in 1846. His uncle Jean Claude Courtot was the maire of Andelnans and also his grandfather Jean Claude Courtot the older who was married to Ann Eve Pacot. I hope to find people who still live in Andelnans who could help me perhaps with photos of the area and I also would like to know if there exists portraits or photos of past maires of Andelnans and if so how would I get a copy of one.
The Rosselot family connects by Marie Theraise Rosselot who m. Jean Claude Courtot the younger and their son Francois Courtot (known as Francis or Frank in U.S.) Francis Courtot and his cousin, my grgrandfather Joseph both came to Ohio together and Henri Rosselot was already there. Henri would have been the uncle of Francis.
Thank You
Roberta Whitacre
Also some other Courtot names are Etienne Courtot, father of Jean Claude the elder and Nicholas Courtot

François Hypolite DeLoye was born in 1808 in Frahier. He was the son of Pierre Henri DeLoye, who was the son of Jean Baptist DeLoye, who was the son of Jean Claude DeLoye (born at Plancher-Bas). François Hypolite DeLoye married Julie Pequignot in 1834 at Frahier.

I have not found a death record for either François Hypolite DeLoye or his wife Julie Pequignot in the civil registers of Frahier. It is said that François Hypolite lived to be over 100 years old.

Are there any DeLoye descendants that have information on the deaths of this couple?

Thank you,
Kay Fordham

The 1912 naturalization petition for my great grandfather CHARLES HENRY RHEINHARDT ERKENS states that he was born in "Frane,Germany" in November 1863. He had German nationality when he immigrated to the USA in 1880. He,however, always claimed to have been born French in Alsace. His father, who brought him to Philadelphia, was named NAPOLEON ERKENS thus emphasizing the French nationality.

I have looked for "Frane" but have only found listings for "Franey" and Frasney" both of which are in Franche-Comte south west of Alsace and apparently never under German control after 1870. I have found no listing in the FHL microfilm records for CHARLES' birth in either town for the year 1863.

Is there any other town in the Alsace area that might fit the name of "Frane"?

Does anyone have any information on the ERKENS family? Family legend says that there was an association with the city of Trier and the building of the roof of the cathedral in the city.
I am searching for the origins of the Pillot family that immigrated to the US in 1832. They went first to New York, but moved to the Republic of Texas in 1837 where they settled in northern Harris County.
My understanding is that the family had been in the Haute-
Saone region since the 13th century.
I would also like to know if there are living relatives still in the area.
Thank you for any help given.
I am in the process of reviewing the Birth, Marriage, and Death records from the LDS for Etobon for the time period 1793-1872. The records are poorly copied and handwritten.
I am having trouble deciphering a date. For example, some of the birth records have dates displayed as 11 flor V
Some of the marriage records have
l'an 9 de le Republique francaise

I'm guessing 9 years after the formation of France as a Republic (1789)?
If anyone has had any experience with these records, I'd really
appreciate any pointers.
TIA
Yvonne

JUSSEY Haute Saone, many families

my ancestors: JACQUINET, PETTIET, SIMMONIN, CONSTANT, ROUGET, GUIARD, with links to COLIN, RIANDEY, DERRIENNIC, CATTON and many more. My family's alias was COURTOY in London.

I have uncovered an enormous mystery regarding Jussey and the French Revolution, all revolving around my ancestor who at that time lived in London under alias surname.

I can show and prove the connections, most of the families came from in and around Jussey, although the Derriennic family moved to Dijon late 1700s, early 1800s. I suspect that most of the families were Catholic and probably quite poor, although Jean Louis Jacquinet was supposedly an inn keeper or hair dresser - mid to late 1700s.

judy in oz

Chaon, and Virginia Rochet married Romeril - they all emigrated to the US and were in NY, Virginia, NC, and CA at different times.
Eugene Rochet is my grandfather - the others are his sisters -I have (from LDS) their parents as Francios Xavier Rochet and Rosiah Vilmot.

DUFORT in Besancon

Jean Baptiste Dufort was born about 1735 and was a parishioner of Ste. Marie Madeleine of Besancon. He immigrated to Nouvelle-France in about 1756 as a colonial soldier. Following the British conquest, he remained in Canada where he worked as a tailor in the Soulanges region east of Montreal. Successive generations of his off spring migrated east across Ontario and into Michigan, and on. The questions I have are: How far back do the Besancon genealogy records go? Is it likely that a local researcher could find any ancestral information?

Bad Axe, Michigan
I'm trying to trace my husband's lineage through his grandfather Emile Lambalot and having no luck.
What we know: Emile was born 30 Sep 1887, probably in Ettuefont-Haut. He came to America around 1910, met and married Marie Julia Didier (may have known her in Ettuefont) and they raised their family in New Bedford, MA. Emile felt obligated to return to France during WWI to fight in the French Army. He was a weaver by profession in New Bedford. Died May 1979 in New Bedford.
We have yet to discover the names of his parents and if he had any siblings. We have an extensive tree for Marie thanks to the efforts of Aimé Didier.
Please visit my webpage: http://www.donet.com/~megron/megspage.htm
Thanks

Henry Peter (b. 1852), Frederick, George Frederick (b. 1850), Julie, were all born in Seloncourt, France. Frederick stayed in France, but Henry Peter emigrated to Stryker, Ohio and George Frederick and sister, Julie, to Fort Wayne, Indiana. Also a Louisa is listed in Fort Wayne in the 1910 census as having been born in France. I'm not sure of the relationship to the others yet. She was older than the other Rouxs.
